The fishing is going to continue to be a little tricky over the next few days as water levels are going to continue to come up with rain we’re getting and we’re going to continue to get. Head into the smaller tribs that have some clarity and work them hard. If you can find some lower, slightly larger streams that are fishable those would be your best bet but that might be a tall order to fill right now. It looks like it’s going to rain everyday until Tuesday…. Another solid choice right now would be to go hit some lakes and ponds for Bass, Pike and Pickerel. A lot of those have iced out at this point and as the water temps warm up the fish will get more and more active.
Just got back from a few days of fishing over on the Salmon river and the fishing was pretty good! Wasn’t on fire by any means but we got into fish everyday pretty much everywhere we fished. All the smaller tribs were void of fish but the Salmon still has a lot of fish moving around. We saw tons of fish everywhere! We got most of them fishing San Juans and Beads… Go figure. Still a lot of fish in the Hatchery which should be dropping out anyway. Might not be a bad idea to send it over there in the next couple of days!
