Things have been good over the past few days. Lots of trips going out and it’s been good. The Winooski is still running a bit dirty, should be good by this weekend provided we don’t get too much rain tomorrow. It’s at a great flow right now just very little visibility. All of the tribs of the Winooski are in good shape. The Lamoille is in much better shape as it usually is after heavy rains. It’s at a great flow right now and is just barely off colored. The Lamoille tribs are fishing well too! W’ve been seeing Caddis, Sulfurs and Cahils hatching, Caddis have been sporadically throughout the day and the Cahils and Sulfurs have been in the evenings. The Hex hatch has begun on a few lakes around, we’ve gotten a few good reports over the past couple of days. We should see those around for a while which can provide some awesome stillwater dry fly opportunities. We’ve been catching fish on a variety of flies from streamers to dries. I fished a Winooski trip yesterday and found fish keying in on buggers fished quick, in the 30 minutes I had to fish I covered three or four holes and The fish have been active throughout the day on the small-mid sized tribs, most likely due to the cooler air temps we’ve had over the past few days. The fishing on the larger rivers has been best early in the morning, we should have some good evenings to fish them over the next few days with the cooler temps we’ve been having. Prior to the rain this week the temps were getting a little warm for evening fishing in a lot of spots. The 7-day forecast isn’t looking too great right now, rain and or thunderstorms everyday. If we receive a little rain everyday that would be great, if we get any significant rainfall the bigger rivers will puff back up and may become unfishable. Might be time to bust the big rods and big flies out for some muddy water browns!!!
